• Demand Forecasting: Develop and maintain demand forecasts using statistical modelling techniques, market analysis, and business intelligence tools.
• Data Analysis: Analyze historical sales data, promotional activities, and market research to identify demand drivers and forecast accuracy.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, production, and supply chain to understand demand drivers and incorporate business insights into demand forecasts.
• S&OP Alignment: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate demand forecasts into the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. The objective is to align production, procurement, and inventory plans with expected demand to ensure smooth operations and resource optimization.
• Forecast Accuracy: Measure and improve forecast accuracy by implementing best practices, evaluating forecasting models, and incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
• Optimising Inventory Levels: Balance inventory levels to meet customer demand while avoiding overstocking or stockouts.Optimize inventory levels by balancing demand forecasts, production capacity, lead times, and service level targets. The objective is to maintain optimal inventory levels that support sales targets and customer service levels while minimizing carrying costs.
• Customer Service Levels: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by accurately forecasting demand and maintaining adequate inventory levels to fulfil customer orders on time. The objective is to meet customer expectations for product availability and delivery timelines.
• Cost Efficiency: Optimize inventory holding, production scheduling, and logistics costs by aligning demand forecasts with supply chain capabilities and business goals. The objective is to minimize excess costs associated with excess inventory, stock outs, expedited shipments, or production inefficiencies.
• Reporting: Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate demand forecasts, key performance indicators (KPIs), and insights to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve demand planning processes, tools, and systems to enhance forecast accuracy and efficiency. The objective is to drive continuous improvement in demand planning processes and outcomes.
